Home for a rest
So my first year of university is officially over now that I’m back home my basement typing up this blog. I had a lot of fun… so much fun that I can’t describe it in words; it was definitely some of the best 8 months of my life. I don’t know how to describe my year or if I could possibly convey the fun I had… but let’s just say that I had a lot of fun. All this was due to the fact that I lived on quite possibly the best floor on the entire campus. We were possibly the closest floor, we always did everything together. Right till the end of the year we still always ate meals together and went out as a group. We were about the only floor who still took up two big tables in the caf every time we went. I also must say that I had the most awesome roommate ever. He was the funniest, coolest guy I could have possibly lived with… I think we pretty much went the entire year without having a single argument about anything… except that time he called all of china gay.
So it didn’t really hit me how sad moving out would be until I actually had to move out. For the longest time it still felt like people were just going away for the weekend and that by Monday it’d be all back to normal. But alas that just wasn’t the way it would be and I guess it finally sunk in when saw my room empty and bare stripped of everything that made it my room for eight months. It felt so weird coming home, and when I woke up this morning, I half expected to open up my eyes to my rez room, but when I opened them I just saw my regular room, needless to say, I was kinda disappointed.

So it looks like my first year of university is officially over. I’m done my exams and it’s a great feeling. There’s nothing I have to do… I can just sit around all day and do nothing, like I am right now. It was so relieving to be finished… we all went to clark and slammed our jackets and then we came back here… put some chairs on the patio and then sat around in the sun and talked and relaxed and drank. And in the end we smoked some cigars that we had picked up for this very special occasion. It was kinda interesting… it’ll become a yearly ritual for us mcnelly 1 engineers, and I think I’d do it again if I had the chance… what with the lung cancer and all.
So the day ended with us watching the leafs kick Ottawa in the bum as we watched in our room and did what we did in the afternoon… then we watched some old school… cause it’s hilarious then we just hung around in the hall… realizing that ppl are starting to leave today and how sad it’ll be… *tear*… but for now I have nothing to do until I have to go home on Saturday…

Ideal waste of time
So I guess I should be studying for my exam tomorrow… but then again, it is java, and it is at 2 in the afternoon, so I guess I have lots of time still left to study. Judging by the old exams it shouldn’t be too bad, which is maybe another reason I’m procrastinating.
Yep, so classes ended on Friday, and maybe it’s just me, but the year didn’t really end in that big a bang, at least not as big as I had expected. The partying was much less than I had expected… although… I think I did miss out on a bunch while I was out getting my belt in gumdo. I did manage to make it to the frec smoker at clark… even though I’m not even a frec… more of a wannabe frec… the type that ends up being an echo, but that’s not really the point. My floormate dragged me out there even though I thought I shouldn’t be there. But it ended up being fun, we decided to leave clark so that we could play foosball… I think I might be getting better, that or it’s just my imagination… one or the other.
So the next couple weeks will mostly consist of my studying for my exams… at least I’ll be pretending to study, who know what I’ll actually be doing. I’ll probably end up spending at least a couple days going out. It may seem crazy… but with 5 whole days between exams, I feel I should make the most of it.
So it’s kinda boring around here when everyone is studying for exams. There’s not much to do in my room… and so… I’m bored. I’d watch a movie or something, but I think that’s just too much time spent not studying…

McNelly 1 0wnz0red that shit
So yesterday, there was a thing called meatfest… basically a bunch of guys go over to this house and we eat meet all day, we weigh ourselves when we get there and when we leave to see how much we gain, apparently I gained 7 pounds, but we think the scale is a tad off.
Also yesterday was our mcnelly semi formal. when asking ppl what i should do with my hair, it seems as though the most popular response was "get a haircut"... but that will come... in september. As with every time the floor goes out, much predrinking was involved… and I had to make sure I drank enough to last the night since I still can’t buy anything at the bars yet. Anyways… our floor gets there an hour late… but that ok. So basically we spend about 3 hours dancing. I busted a groove for those three hours… but I’m not sure how I looked, cause you know when you go to a club and there’s always the drunk guy who’s always dancing… but looks really, really bad? That might have been me, I’m not sure exactly… but that’s what I did for 3 hours, then we went to bubba’s for poutine which we always do as well. Then some of us decided to take a cab and others decided to walk… I walked… anyways… I’m not sure how it happened, but erin was complaining about how her feet hurt from the high heels, and then… I’m not sure what I said, or if was still drunk, but we ended up switching footwear. Yeah… so I walked through this park in the high heels, and I kept screwing up the walking, it hurt and I kept dragging the heel, which is apparently bad, and I was supposed to keep my legs straight and walk with my toes first… it was a complicated and painful ordeal so we switched back to our regular shoes and then walked home… and slept… and when I woke up… it seemed as though everyone on the floor new that I had done the shoe switching thing.

mmmm... dead pig
so at first bacon sounds like it's yummy... but then when someone feeds you an entire plate full... i don't feel so good
anyways... which do you think is a better echo name "echo restraining order", "echo base" or "echo echo" or if you have any other good suggestions, that would be nice too

Happy st. patty’s day
So basically a lot of weird stuff happened yesterday… mostly related to people drinking since the wee hours of the morning. Well, I didn’t have enough time to get drunk before going to class… but a lot of other ppl did, and it made for some interesting happenings during lectures.
So we go to dinner yesterday, and my roommate has his friend, Jordan, over since he’s here for a campus tour. The whole time we’re eating dinner all this weird stuff happens, and we’re trying to convince Jordan that this stuff never happens, of course we don’t know if he believes us… he just chose a bad day to come visit us I guess. There’s just a lot of drunkenness in the caf… we saw one guy run out holding a caf glass filled with a liquid of some sort… maybe it’s beer, maybe it was iced tea… who knows… it’s just the caf guys are really anal about ppl stealing stuff. Then later we see this guy walk out of the caf with an OPEN bottle of beer, it’s still foaming out the top, and he’s being followed by a caf manager, like making sure he leaves. Then this other guy leaves and does something to the lady swiping cards at the cashier and then all these caf guys run over there… and watch as this kid walks away… I’m not sure what he did… but he sure did have a lot of caf guys making sure he didn’t come back. Then as we were leaving a guy pukes by the tray return… and there’s this other guy at getting his card swiped and he turns to us and says “he can totally smell the booze all over me, ALL OVER ME, ALL OVER ME” and he did a little dance and we all just laughed as we saw a manager run over to do something.
So the night was kinda uneventful as I went to a friend’s house for casual drinking and algebra, not as fun as my floor who went out to the grizzly grill and shoeless joes for food and green beer. And I could have gone with them if only Isaac had found out he wasn’t gonna go out just a couple minutes earlier, of course is that had happened, I’d have never gotten the algebra done… but I think I could have sacrificed that 1% for st. patrick’s day.

Monday: the new Thursday
So yesterday we had our year exec elections, so we voted on our year prez and vice prez and stuff like that… that went ok… although it took about 2 hours, much longer than I expected. Anyways, we also voted on our year motto, basically it came down to “united we slam” or “fortune favours the engineer” both will be translated into latin… but as you can see, I think the second one is better than the first. And we kept voting and voting and voting… and it seemed that the second one always won, but it also seemed like the year exec really wanted the first one, so basically we kept voting until “united we slam” became our year motto, which I think is a kinda crappy year motto.
So anyways, I come back from the shitty elections and parts of my floor are all ready to go out to the brass, a bar off campus. So somehow, they convince me to come out, really, it didn’t take much convincing. So I borrow the id of a guy who lives on my floor and off we go. It was fun… we drank and talked… and had a good time… anyways… I kinda slept through my java quiz this morning, but that’s ok since I can write it again next week… so yeah, now my head hurts and I’m missing most of my classes for the day, but at least it’s better than a couple of the commies on my floor who aren’t going to ANY class this week since it’s march break. Speaking of which, those campus tours are all over the place… I walk out of rez on the way to a group meeting and this tour guide is like, “and that’s an engineer you can tell by the colour of his jacket”… I didn’t know what to say to that.
